French Federation of Magic
- Profile
FFM (French Federation of Magic)
For over a century, the Federation has brought together approximately 1,200 members, spread across 45 French chapters and 2 partners.
The FFM is a large family, where members can meet and share ideas around a common passion: Magic. Everything is done to best represent the art of magic and to help it evolve, while preserving its history.
The FFM brings together 45 local associations spread across France.
These departmental associations of magicians are true meeting places, forums for exchange, sharing, and fantastic exchanges of ideas, and they include hundreds of affiliated members, both professional and amateur.
The FFM is also a founding member of the International Federation of Magical Societies (FISM).
The French Federation of Magic is run by 3 seperate entities:
The Office:
They oversee the activities and subsidiaries of the FFM.
They are elected by the Assembly and the Federal Council. The Federal Council:
The Federal Council is composed of a maximum of 24 members. Half are elected in their personal capacity from among the presidents of member associations and the other half are elected from among the elected members of the college of individual members.
Each college elects its representatives separately according to a method of candidate nomination and a form of election determined by the internal regulations.
The Federal Assembly:
The Federal Assembly is composed of two colleges and its members are elected for 3 years:
The college of approved member associations
(represented by their President)The college of individual members
(composed of a maximum of 24 members elected from among all members of the Federation)The members of the Federation Bureau and the council are drawn from the Federal Assembly.
All major decisions are made by the Federal Assembly. It votes on the statutes and internal regulations of the Federation. The Federal Assembly also votes on the location of the Congresses and determines the prices of membership and subscriptions to our Review.
For this reason, it is important that all members of the Federation vote to elect their representatives.
To join the FFM:
You would need to contact a local club in your area and join through that.
You can see this page for local affiliated clubs in France.
If no local club is available, you would be able to apply online, via the FFM website.
