The Asian Magic Association is an umbrella body.

Their mission statement is : The world’s leading magic association committed to strengthening, promoting, and advancing the art of magic by bringing together the magic societies of Asia.

Asian Magic Association (AMA) was established on 28th March, 2003 during the “Hong Kong 2003 International Magic Convention”. The Association was founded by 6 Asian magic societies, including Taiwan Black Hat Magic Club (resigned in 2019), Magicians’ Association of Hong Kong, China GuangDong Acrobatic Association, Siam Magic Club of Thailand, Inner Magic Club of Philippines and Korea Alexander Magic Family. In the establishment ceremony, delegates of all founder societies made a join announcement by 5 official languages to signify the formal inauguration of the Association. Presidents of those 6 member societies assumed the duty of board directors to manage the operation of AMA. Mr. Ton Onosaka from Japan was invited as consultant of the Association.

AMA always welcomes good standing magic society representing its city in Asia area to join the association. Besides it’s board societies, member societies nowadays also include Singapore IBM Ring 115, Japan Close-up Magic Association, Magic Ring of Malaysia, GuiLin Magic Society of China, Macao Magic Art Association, Magic Society of Bangladesh, Japanese Magicians Society, Jing So Acrobatic Association of China, Taiwan IBM Ring 360, Magic Union Korea, Magicians Club of Korea, Magic Association of Thailand, Bangladesh Magicians’ Council, Singapore Association of Magicians, Java Ring Magic Club of Indonesia, D.P.R.K. Magic Association of North Korea, JieLi World Magic Art Clubof China, Thailand Magician Association, Vietnam Magician Association, China Magic Art Society.

AMA aims for promotion and elevation of the Art of Magic, and unity of magic organizations in Asia. It also organizes magic conventions and AMA Magic Competition similar to FISM magic competitions with exception that its magic contests are only for Asia. With 25 member societies in Asia, AMA convention is highly regarded as the only official magic contest in Asia and AMA Contest champions are honored as Asia Magic Champions.

Since 2005, AMA tie up with FISM as its brother organization. 18 societies of AMA became the member societies of FISM.
