Circle of Magicians of Provence

This magic club operates in Les Pennes Mirabeau.

They meet on the second Friday of the month.

The Circle of Magicians of Provence was founded on Wednesday, September 22, 1943 at 6 p.m. sharp. Its name was Amicale Robert Houdin Marseille Sud-Est (Subsidiary of the A. S.A.P of Paris). The President was Mr Jean DELIS and the Vice-President BACCARA.

We transformed ourselves into the “Amicale Robert-Houdin de Marseille” in the sixties, then into the “Cercle des Magiciens de Provence” under the impetus of GEO GEORGES at the beginning of the nineties, to finally keep only “Les Magiciens de Provence” in the twenty-first century.

We are affiliated to the French Federation of ContemporaryConjurers (F.F.A.P.), formerly the FrenchAssociation of ContemporaryConjurers. Now the FFM (French Federation of Magic).

The aim of the association is to:
-Promote in all its forms the art of magic as a performing art.
– To encourage the development and progress of the magic art by organizing or sponsoring quality public events intended to make conjuring shows known and appreciated.
– Ensure that no confusion can be made between Conjuring and so-called occult or paranormal practices.
-Fight against the dishonest use of illusionist techniques when they aim to exploit the credulity of the public.
-Protect magic and magicians from abusive public disclosures.
– To protect the creators of acts and inventors of new processes against the non-respect of artistic property rights.
– To develop bonds of friendship and mutual aid between all conjurers, professionals and amateurs, and to encourage their grouping within the Association.

We meet every second Friday of every month, except in August and exceptions.

The membership fee is 75€ + membership to the FFAP. It includes free access to all meetings as well as free access to conferences (with some exceptions).
