UPDATE: HTTP/2 IS NOW IN USE ON THIS SITE

For those wondering why I am posting about this. I did indicate that I would keep you all up to date with developments on the site.

Siteground (who are the hosts of this site ), have updated their servers to take advantage of HTTP/2.

What does this mean to you?

Well, in a nutshell: improved performance and speed of loading. I just ran test on gtmetrix.com and the site is loading in 3.5 seconds from Vancouver. So, as long as load times stay under 4 seconds I am happy. (and don’t need to find a performance expert).

Web protocol standards for HTTP 1.1 , were designed in 1999. So, I guess it is long overdue for an upgrade.

With HTTP/2 multiple requests can be made simultaneously to server hosting your site… which means increased speed for you … the user.
