R. Paul Wilson is a Scottish filmmaker, magician, and author known for his expertise in gambling and cons. He has studied sleight of hand, cheating, and conjuring since he was eight years old.
Wilson was born in Akrotiri, Cyprus, and was raised in Singapore and Scotland.
He has an extensive resume in the film and television industry, where he has worked as a second unit director, adviser, and actor. Notable works include his role as a magic adviser on the film “Smokin’ Aces,” where he also taught the lead actor to handle cards expertly.
Wilson has also directed and starred in the opening titles of the film “Shade,” which featured expert sleight of hand with cards.
In addition to his film work, Wilson has been a writer and presenter on the BBC’s “The Real Hustle” from 2006 to 2012.
He has also produced A&E’s television show “Mondo Magic” and advised on various projects.
Wilson is known for his close-up magic and sleight-of-hand skills. He has conducted interviews for his documentary project “Our Magic,” which explores topics related to magicians.
Paul does quite a few magic lectures as well, so it is possible that you could catch him at a convention near you!
